Hidden in a valley just above Penryn is the magical Argal Reservoir. Traditionally a popular fishing spot, there’s now a woodland walk around the perimeter that a friend and I made the most of one sunny afternoon.
Starting at the car park, we each grabbed an iced coffee and cake from Wild Vibes cafe. Fueled for our walk we headed anti-clockwise around the lake, following the woodland path.
The path gives amazing views of all the lakes great angles, and you can always spot some wildlife hanging out.
This was a really great little walk, full of character and stunning views. While its only roughly 2km, you can see Mabe Church, local wildlife and the wider area. If you want to make it a bit longer you can pop across the road and do the loop around neighbouring College Reservoir.
Access is available to anyone and is free of charge.
There is a lovely little cafe next to the car park where we got coffee and cake.
There is a small pay and display car park on site.
