Last week I commandeered my other half’s rather ancient DSLR and took it out for a walk. I’d like it for the record that I have absolutely no idea how to use the thing, but I’m going to learn! It may take a while… but I’m quite pleased with how these turned out.
It started out quite gloomy, but soon the clouds parted and the sun came out. I picked Chapel Porth not just for its National Trust parking but for the legendary hedgehog icecreams.
I started at the top carpark and made by way through the Wheal Coates side, joining the coastpath near Towanroath engine house. This path then winds its way down towards the beach.
I was lucky enough on my visit that the tide was out and I could walk along the beach with my icecream.
The whole area is free to access via public footpaths. Be mindful that the tide on Chapel Porth comes in very quickly if your heading along the beach.
There are two National Trust carparks, one right on the beach and another just behind Wheal Coates mine.
