The walk from Swanpool to Maenporth is a lovely little one, even on a cloudy day like this. We parked up in Swanpool’s carpark and had a quick gander at the birds drying their wings.
We then headed up the path towards Maenporth, which gives the most wonderful views of Swanpool, Gylly, Pendennis Castle and over onto St Mawes.
Pendennis castle perched on the hill.
There are a whole bunch of little beaches scattered along the coastline, some harder to reach than others.
Sunny Cove and Newporth Head.
Pennance or Stack Point. This used to have a stack on it from Swanpool Mine.
The remains of the entrance to an old sewage outlet on Pennance Point.
A boat off the coast.
Lighthouse on St Anthony Head.
We parked at Swanpool beach carpark which has seasonal charges. Maenporth has its own tiny carpark with year round charges paid at the cafe. Both beaches have a cafe that is open all year round – cash only at Maenporth.
